Christine Maxwell

Christine Maxwell lives in Portland, Oregon where she has been hosting the Tuesday night jam for the last nine years. She also organizes a weekend regional jam at Sky Camp each year. She's dedicated to creating an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and supports focused practice of Contact Improvisation. Christine is endlessly curious about how humans interact in relationship and community, how we move, play and explore together, how we know ourselves, our strengths, boundaries, and limitations. She is a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, a student of Hakomi, and a loving mama of a teen and a tween. She is super excited to play, explore, teach and learn at the Rocky Mountain Jam.

Mike Detweiler

Mike Detweiler has been exploring how to efficiently use the body and mind in acrobatics and martial arts for over a decade. He has used this knowledge to inform his exploration of Contact Improvisation the past six years. Calling on techniques from gymnastics, capoeira, judo, and tai qi, he is always searching for ways to dance more efficiently and effortlessly, and to explore improvisational acrobatics. Working with themes from Buddhism, Taoism, and somatic psychology, he also enjoys exploring mindfulness and radical self expression in the dance.
